While taking my son to his father’s I came across a church billboard that changed the way I viewed my relationship with God. It simply said “If God is your co-pilot change seats!” I’ve never used the expression myself, but it did make me think about where I placed God in my life. The truth is a majority of us say we want God to be in control of our lives, but never truly hand over the controls. We feel that in order to be successful in life we have to somehow maintain control over our own destinies and situations. As appropriately pointed out in the lyrics of the Casting Crowns song, Somewhere in the Middle , it says ‘Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control?’ God knows us better than we know ourselves, He knows every step we take, the thoughts in our heads, even the number of hairs on our heads (Matt. 10:30). So why wouldn’t you want the one who already knows what’s going to happen take complete control over the outcome of your life. Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before tho camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5 KJV). If you’re having difficulty relinquishing your life over to the Lord take a moment and consider what would happen if you did. We constantly take leaps of faith when it comes to other aspects of our lives so now it’s time to take that same leap into the arms of our heavenly Father. I guarantee it will be the best decision you will ever make. ---Nina Cox GPS- God’s Precious Son: Your Most Reliable Navigation System. (ChristianShirts.net)
