This is not by far my favorite activity, but it does provide a good lesson concerning God. We’ve all heard the saying Patience is a virtue, but when it comes to waiting patiently for God this eight letter word seems almost impossible to master. We as humans are impatient and want everything to happen right now and on our own terms. But as any seasoned Christian will tell you God does not work in our time frame and He doesn’t always give us what we want. Most of the time this is for our own good, but in the passion of the moment we don’t always view God’s ways as being the best. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways , saith the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8 KJV).             Patience is one of the hardest skills to learn, you can’t simple pray for God to give you patience you have to learn it the hard way. I figured this out a long time ago. After praying and asking God to give me more patience I then faced some of the most trying times of my life. But on the other end of the trials and tribulation I learned a plethora of valuable lessons not just patience. So if you’re brave enough to ask brace yourself for the ride of your life.               Me personally I think one of the hardest parts about mastering patience is when God says to be still. If you’re like me you want to be up in the middle where the action is going on, but sometimes God wants you to just sit back and let Him work. A lot of times we do try to take God’s commands and try to fulfill them ourselves, but they never work out for the good when we try ourselves. A fine example of this is Abraham. God promised Abraham he and his wife Sarah were going to have a child, but because they thought they were too old to have children and because it didn’t happen when they wanted it to they took matters into their own hands. We all know how this story goes Sarah gives her handmaiden to Abraham and she bears him a son and well disaster takes place. Lucky for us God understands we’re only human and uses the bad for our good.             So if God has you standing still don’t fret you can still work while you’re waiting by worshipping, praising, etc. Just remember if He has you standing still it just means He has to go before you.   The opposite of talking isn't listening.
